Job Description

Are you a skilled Speech Pathologist who is passionate about working with children and young people? We are excited to share that we have a fabulous opportunity for a full time OR part time Paediatric Speech Pathologist (Grade 2) to join our dedicated and professional Child Health and Development team. The role is fixed term for 12 months, with a possibility of becoming ongoing. About the team The Child Health and Development (CHAD) team provide a multidisciplinary allied health service for children and young people primarily aged 0-12 years. It is comprised of a dynamic, collaborative and friendly team of occupational therapists, speech pathologists, a physiotherapist, mental health professionals, and a child and family engagement practitioner. About the role The Paediatric Speech Pathologist (Grade 2) will work within the Child Youth and Families directorate and will be required to provide an efficient, high-quality service to children from across the Bellarine region. You will function as a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, working closely with team members from the CHAD team to promote an integrated and holistic service, including: Managing a mixed caseload of both community health and NDIS clients. Providing high-quality clinical speech pathology services to children and young people who experience communication and/or feeding difficulties. Completing clinical assessments, the provision of therapy (individual or in group), and relevant follow up. Practicing in a holistic, child and family centred, and strength-based manner. Working in clinic, early childhood, schools, and home environments. Supervising students, early career clinicians, and allied health assistants or volunteers (as required). Participating in and have a commitment to all clinical governance activities. To be successful you will require: Tertiary qualification in speech pathology, and registration with Speech Pathology Australia. Advanced clinical skills and demonstrated high level clinical problem solving in paediatric speech pathology. Demonstrated ability to practice in a collaborative, strength based, family and child centred model, with emphasis on parent upskilling on how to best support their child. High level and effective interpersonal skills, including teamwork, leadership, communication, and conflict management. Strong organisational and time management skills, efficient and flexible work practices including the ability to manage a busy caseload, meet deadlines, prioritise, and respond to change. Demonstrated commitment to professional development by maintaining, applying, and sharing clinical knowledge.
