Our specialist surgeons are supported by a dedicated team of specialist medical, pain and rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, nursing and administration staff, allowing the delivery of high quality clinical outcomes and service to patients in need of neuro-spinal care. Role & Responsibilities Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with chronic pain conditions, including those related to neurosurgical and spine procedures. Conduct comprehensive pain assessments, including medical history evaluations, physical examinations, and review of diagnostic test results. Develop individualized pain management plans tailored to each patient’s specific needs, utilizing multimodal approaches that may include medications, interventional procedures, physical therapy, psychological interventions, and alternative therapies. Perform interventional pain procedures, such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, and neuromodulation techniques, to alleviate pain and improve patients’ functional abilities. Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, psychologists, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients with complex pain conditions. Provide patient education regarding pain management strategies, self-care techniques, and lifestyle modifications to optimize pain control and enhance overall well-being. Contribute to the development and implementation of pain management protocols and guidelines within the organization. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including pain assessments, treatment plans, and procedural documentation. Actively participate in quality improvement activities, research projects, and multidisciplinary case conferences to enhance pain management outcomes. Requirements Medical degree and current registration with the Medical Board of Australia or New Zealand as a Specialist in Pain Medicine. Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), or equivalent. Registration as a Medical Practitioner with APRHA Current rights to work in Australia (Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent resident) Extensive experience in the assessment and management of chronic pain conditions, with a particular focus on neurosurgical and spine-related pain. Proficiency in interventional pain procedures and advanced pain management techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team. Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying updated with the latest advancements in pain medicine and evidence-based practices.
