Recreation service management is part of our organisation oversees contracts between the City of Salisbury and third-party providers who manage our recreation centres, aquatic centre, and golf course. About the Role: Are you passionate about fostering vibrant communities through sport, recreation, and leisure? The City of Salisbury is seeking a dedicated professional to manage the administration of contracts and performance reporting for our sports facilities, recreation services, and cemeteries. This role ensures contemporary and sustainable service delivery, develops operational agreements, and provides strategic advice on programming and asset investments. By promoting the community benefits of sports and events, you will play a key role in enhancing the economic and social prosperity of our city. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate management agreements and compliance measures for sports facilities, open spaces, and cemeteries. Review and enhance operational strategies to maximize community benefits. Identify and secure funding for city projects in sports, recreation, and the arts. Develop and advise on activation strategies to boost participation and community engagement. Implement sustainable management practices across key facilities, including sports and recreation centres. Manage Council’s contractual arrangements with service providers to ensure efficient and compliant service delivery. Monitor and report on the performance of business units and contracted service providers against KPIs. Conduct risk assessments and lead business development initiatives. Provide financial management advice and support to stakeholders. Resolve grievances and ensure adherence to Council policies and procedures. Foster effective communication and collaboration across teams and external partners. Promote work health and safety policies and ensure alignment with organizational sustainability goals. To be successful within this role, you will have: Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and communication skills. Sound knowledge of community development, sports facility management, and customer service administration. Understanding of strategic planning, social determinants of health, and contract management practices. Demonstrated experience in managing sport, recreation, and leisure services. Proven ability to manage partnerships and community-centred service agreements. Track record of resolving complex issues and negotiating contracts. Ability to build strong professional relationships internally and externally. Previous experience in Local or State Government in sport, recreation, and contract management. Essential Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
