We are seeking an Australian Payroll Manager to lead the national payroll function ensuring the accurate and timely payroll processing for approximately 5,000 GHD employees. You will be key in implementing best practice, maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards, and championing continuous improvements in payroll systems and processes.Responsibilities: Developing and leading a best-in-class payroll team providing quality payroll services to the organisation. Leading the end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accurate pay calculations and compliance with policies, relevant legislation, and Awards, including taxation, superannuation and reporting obligations. Developing and maintaining internal controls to minimise risks associated with payroll activities. Ensuring processes and procedures are in place for queries to be addressed accurately and professionally. Providing advice and guidance to internal teams, identifying potential risks or improvement opportunities. Completing Payroll analysis, identifying trends, discrepancies and providing relevant insights with recommendations. Implementing effective and scalable solutions, including process automation and system enhancements. Developing, mentoring and empowering direct team members to deliver appropriate solutions, customer service and timely advice. Managing the team's workload and recruiting resources as required. To be successful in this role you will require the following: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management or a related field. Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or equivalent desirable. Membership with a recognised payroll body is desirable. Proven experience leading and managing a payroll function and team in a large complex organisation, with minimum 10 years' experience in Payroll. Extensive experience with various payroll/HRIS software and systems. Expertise in interpreting and applying Awards, with a strong grasp of Australian payroll legislation, including but not limited to local, state, and federal payroll regulations, tax, superannuation, and reporting requirements. Experience in documenting payroll processes, procedures, and policies, as well as maintaining records for all stakeholders including technical teams and for auditing purposes. If you possess strong communication skills and can influence and build relationships with multiple stakeholders with proven analytical, problem-solving skills, we would like to hear from you. This role has a high level of flexibility and can be based in any GHD Main Office Locations throughout Australia. Interested?
