About the Role As a Performance Management Expert (aligned to the Institutional division) in our team, you’ll play a key role in engaging in planning and target setting activities; financial performance analysis and reporting; decision support (including formulating solutions to complex business problems); and continuous process improvement. You will interface with a range of stakeholders including Group and Divisional Finance teams, Divisional CFOs and Pricing, Risk and Investor Relations leaders. As a Performance Management Expert, you will: Analyse Institutional divisional financial performance, including detailed driver information to help optimise business performance by identifying actionable insights. Drive the content and timely completion of the Divisions’ financial leadership team updates to enable a strong understanding of key financial performance drivers, thematic risks, and opportunities. Prepare briefing materials for Divisional executives ahead of internal and external engagements. Engage with Divisional finance teams to support strategic planning/outlook development and formation of recommendations that enable improvements to profitability, both short and longer term. External performance and financial reporting benchmarking versus peers (established and emerging). Assist Investor Relation and relevant Executives with completion of Half and Full Year External Performance reporting. What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Knowledge of how banks operate and the drivers of financial performance including funding, risk, and capital together with the individual factors shaping revenues including net interest margin. Strong analytical skills including the ability to gather and assess multiple sets of data, model, and test hypotheses for different scenarios, drawing accurate conclusions and forming recommendations. Deep coordination and communication skills including the ability to capture messages succinctly and explain clearly to senior executives in both written and verbal presentations. An ability to cut through ancillary items and noise to find key areas for decision making. Professional Financial Analysis or Accounting qualification preferred but not essential.
