This involves the Maternity Antenatal Postnatal Service (MAPS) clinic, birth unit, day unit assessment and maternity ward. There is also the opportunity to rotate into the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) which involves a 2 year extended rotation. 12 hour shifts within birth unit and maternity ward are available to allow positive work life balance, with the choice of traditional 8 and 10 hour shifts also available.Our client is committed to excellence not only in patient care but also in the growth and development of staff. Before starting, all staff receive thorough orientation to all areas and a three-day hospital orientation. Additionally, Midwifery educators are available within the department for support. Attendance at mandatory education and perinatal safety sessions is included in your schedule.Health ServiceMaitland Hospital is a new hospital in a growing community - a Level 4 maternity service that consists of 6 day stay assessment beds, 6 birth rooms and 16 maternity ward beds. Maitland Hospital has approximately 2000 births a year and offers a selection of continuity models of care including MAPS, AMIHS and MGP.The facility has been built to provide patients with high quality care in a modern and comfortable environment and it embraces technology and innovation, allowing staff new, improved ways to work that will deliver better health outcomes.The LocationMaitland is set in an idyllic location in the Lower Hunter Valley within a picturesque riverine landscape and historic buildings. It has lots of choice of affordable housing and excellent local public and private schools.
