Job Description

Add expected salary to your profile for insights. We save & change lives. At Children’s Cancer Institute, we believe that a life should be long. Cancer cuts life short for hundreds of children every year, before they’ve even had a chance to make their mark. We aim to not only improve their quality of life but eradicate the cause of their pain. As the only independent medical research institute in Australia focused on childhood cancer, our purpose is to translate and discover (through world-class research) new treatments that will cure cancer and reduce the side effects in children and adolescents. Choose to be part of a team that will nurture your talent, so you too can contribute to this purpose. Together, we can and we will cure all children of cancer. It’s not if. It’s when. We are looking for an experienced Relationship Manager to join our growing Philanthropy team, focusing on the acquisition of high-net-worth individuals. This role will work collaboratively with the Philanthropy team to build and maintain key relationships through personalised engagement plans that inspire and connect, to ensure donors feel valued and part of our important mission. As our Relationship Manager Philanthropy your purpose will be to: Identify and qualify prospective donors to grow the major gifts pipeline and be responsible for the overall gifting process. Cultivate and solicit high-value gifts from prospective and current donors. Develop and deliver a “journey of one” for prospects, including prospect profiling, securing of discovery meetings, lab tours, coordinating meetings with Institute leaders and advocates. Refine and deliver stewardship plans for donors that have contributed high-value gifts to the Institute to ensure they stay connected with our vision. Champion consistent and quality messaging through the preparation of materials to support the opportunities identified and help educate our advocates. Partner with key stakeholders and the Senior Leadership Team to strengthen donor connections, build compelling cases for support, and secure transformative gifts for the Institute. Contribute to the delivery of a Philanthropy Event Series, ranging from research showcases and gala balls to meaningfully engage new and existing prospects. To succeed you will have… Hold a minimum of 5 years’ experience in philanthropy and relationship management, with a focus on high-net-worth individual acquisition and engagement. Proven success at securing major gift support and multi-year commitments. Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape nationally and internationally with existing networks. Strong written, communication, and presentation skills and experience leading tailored donor communications. A lay understanding of medical research and science is desirable. Experience inputting stakeholder information in a CRM System (Salesforce or similar). We will support you to be your best with benefits that include but are not limited to: Access to our ‘FlexBEST’ program – true flexibility from day 1. Focus on employee wellbeing, including up to 5 gifted wellbeing days off (paid) per year. Join a group of dedicated people in a purpose-driven environment to achieve success and discover what it's like to look forward to coming to work every day and make a real difference. To apply, please click the 'APPLY' link and forward both your resume AND cover letter (mandatory) clearly addressing the qualifications, experience, and skills required. We embrace diversity and encourage applications from people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. #J-18808-Ljbffr
