This full-time role has a starting salary of £40,296 per annum based on a 36 hour working week. This is a fixed term contract for 22 months with the expectation that the contract will be extended following the next funding round. This role is open to hybrid working and will split time between working from home and collaborating together, either at our Woking offices or with partners in Spelthorne. Active Surrey is one of 43 national Active Partnerships funded by Sport England to tackle inactivity which is driven by inequalities. We believe in the power of physical activity and the benefits it can offer: a mood booster, a confidence lifter, a social enhancer and a life extender. Less than half of Surrey's kids are doing enough physical activity every week, which falls to only 4 out of 10 children amongst lower-income families. In addition, 3 out of 10 Surrey adults aren't doing enough, rising to over 4 out of 10 amongst those earning less. That's why we need YOU to join our Movement for Change! We know that where you live plays a huge part in how active you are. Nationally, Sport England has committed to £250m over 5 years to its place expansion. This role will be leading the place expansion in Stanwell, Spelthorne. You will build movement into the area from the ground up, working with organisations and communities to understand the issues and barriers preventing people from being active, and working strategically to develop local solutions and build our learning. Reporting into the Managing Director and the new Stanwell Place Partnership Governance Board, you'll have line management responsibility for a part-time Community Activator. As a connector and convenor, you will work closely with: Active Surrey, Spelthorne Borough Council, NW Surrey Alliance, Surrey County Council, the voluntary and community sector, Sport England and the wider Active Partnerships network. You will also support colleagues in place-based working across the county. This is a really varied role where no two days are the same but as our Lead you can expect to be involved in: Planning, implementing and monitoring the place expansion project in Stanwell Building and growing key relationships both nationally and locally to support the place expansion's outcomes Building strategic alignment to a vision for change in Stanwell Overseeing the development of the evaluation and learning framework for the place Building strong community engagement and oversee a Community Activator Being responsible for the test and learn programmes to build our understanding of local need and opportunity Coordinating local training and partner convening events Reporting to the Place Governance Board and Sport England on strategy, budget management and impact You'll love this job if: You're passionate about making a difference, you're ambitious, dynamic and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, using insight to drive real change You're curious and like to ask why and how!
