Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Physiotherapist - Grade 2 (General Medicine) Requisition No: 2898 Executive Division: Operations Division: Allied Health Program: AH Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology Department: Allied Health Physiotherapy Enterprise Agreement: Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) Job Function: Allied Health Professionals Project: Come and join our General Medicine team at Sunshine Hospital, with full-time and part-time work available until 30th June 2025 (with the possibility of further work after this date). Working in our General Medicine team, you will use your acute care, cardiorespiratory and discharge planning skills to deliver best care to a variety of General Medical patient cohorts. This position includes weekend work where you will provide Grade 2 leadership and support to casual and junior staff on our weekend physiotherapy service. There may also be the opportunity to cover our inpatient Mental Health service and other acute cardiorespiratory medical and surgical caseloads as part of this position. Our General Medicine multi-disciplinary teams provide person-centred, holistic, and collaborative care, to keep the patient and their family at the centre of goal setting and discharge planning. Working in this team you will use your problem solving and critical thinking alongside your compassion and respect to enjoy working in this fast-paced environment. The patient presentations in General Medicine include acute illness, exacerbations of chronic cardiorespiratory conditions, functional decline, and non-operative fracture management. This role will provide you with autonomy in managing a ward-based patient case load and opportunity to build strong relationships with other members of the allied health and medical teams. Learning and development are integral to the culture of our department, and we will support you to build your clinical, supervision and leadership skills. We will encourage you to participate in our Research and Quality program and contribute to our stream portfolios and department committees. Physiotherapists at Western Health are also encouraged in career development and planning through the Allied Health workforce development program. You will be well supported by experienced Grade 3 General Medicine, Cardiorespiratory and Critical Care Physiotherapists dedicated to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement. Through this you will build your skills in managing acutely unwell and deteriorating patients and complex discharge planning.
