Role Description The role of Plant Manager will be based onsite in North Brisbane and will be responsible for managing manufacturing variances for the site, finding any problems that affect the manufacturing process and resolving any issues that may arise. The Plant Manager will also be responsible for providing a review of best practice and managing the floor staff with a high performance but team culture. Responsibilities Manage and direct the factory floor staff as required Improve the factory flow and layout Train and develop staff on best practice moving forward Manage & proactively promote a safe working environment for all employees including overseeing all compliance and safety initiatives Develop, support and grow your direct reports to be effective leaders Meet all plant production targets and demand without compromising safety, product quality or blowing out your budget Drive operational KPI's to ensure results are in line with business priorities and improvement targets Initiate, manage and deliver capital work and capital expenditure programs whilst maintaining and managing budgets Achieve and manage set budgets and cost management of daily/weekly/monthly costs Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders Identify and share best practices for setting up and running machines Challenge existing processes, techniques and systems Work closely with all departments in the development and introduction of improved manufacturing and operational techniques to support site efficiencies, quality objectives and customer satisfaction Work with other functions and managers to agree, prioritise, plan, coordinate implementation and follow up on all process improvement activities Analyse current process performance with senior management Promote measurable quality improvements by the promotion of best practice Required Experience Experience in a Plant Manager/Production Manager within Packaging, FMCG or a Manufacturing environment Relevant tertiary and/or trades qualification Proven experience with Continuous Improvement projects and activities Identified, planned and implemented activities in a stand-alone role previously Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety, continuous improvement/lean manufacturing and quality systems Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and influence key stakeholders Mechanically and solutions focused, with an analytical, positive and strategic mindset Excellent work ethic and dedicated to succeed to get the job done Safety focused and experienced in managing all aspects of safety and reporting Flexible attitude to work different hours where needed to support your team Strong organisational skills, high attention to detail and time management Planning: Understanding of how to construct a commercially astute business plan and communicate it clearly Delegation: Assesses and understands individual skill sets and trusts employees with tasks Coaching: Takes responsibility for developing colleagues, helping them improve their skills Authoritative: Steps forward and challenges the status quo Team Leadership: Recognises that team performance is more important than individual performance Communication: Sees communication as a two-way process, values the opinion of others Problem solving & decision making: Seeks views of others before making a decision Consistent, Reliable & Professional: Highly committed to their work Relationship Builder: Creates an atmosphere of trust and sincerity Personal Organisation: Has a structured approach to planning and prioritising work Seniority level : Mid-Senior level Employment type : Full-time Job function : Manufacturing, Management, and Production Industries : Packaging and Containers Manufacturing, Plastics Manufacturing, and Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
