Responsibilities Position Summary: Supervises activities of Shop employees and supports manufacturing and safety objectives. Job duties include but are not limited to: Leads the daily work of the team, including scheduling staff, planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring efficient workflow. Directs employees in meeting quality and on-time delivery requirements, addresses production challenges, and communicates issues to relevant managers. Follows the dispatch due dates and sends reports with updates at the end of shifts to the manager and plant manager. Partners with the production department in managing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their responsibilities and delegated tasks. Leads 6S improvements with the manager and directs employees to reach the goal of 90 points. Provides technical guidance to team members and consults with other resources when needed. Communicates with the manager regarding schedules and backlogs. Assists the manager with selection and performance management of employees and recommending compensation. Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, improvements in procedures and working conditions, and process modifications. Monitors employee productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching. Gives the team written and oral instructions. Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency. Follows departmental policies, procedures, objectives, continuous improvement objectives, and safety rules. Maintains timekeeping and attendance records for groups using UKG. Issues corrective actions for employees who are not adhering to company policies (safety, attendance, etc.). Ensures that employees are progressing on training plans to achieve higher levels of performance and production. Evaluates employee performance. Responsible for first-line employee relations and resolution of issues within their departments. Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures. Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field a plus. Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience. Supervisory experience a plus. Supervisory skills. Ability to deal with conflicts and employee issues in a professional manner. Technical orientation with ability to learn new technologies. Computer skills including MS Office. Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines. Team-oriented and collaborative. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
