Player Development Manager About the Role WA Cricket in conjunction with the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) is looking for a highly motivated Player Development Manager to oversee the wellbeing and holistic development of our male athletes. As a member of the High Performance team, this role will implement individualised best practice programs in the areas of personal development, health and wellbeing, career and education for players at Big Bash League, State and underage representative level. Key Responsibilities Build trusted and valued relationships with players, coaches, High Performance staff, ACA, Cricket Australia (CA), and each player’s primary personal network. Provide best practice wellbeing case management in collaboration with the State Association psychologist. Provide guidance and support on wellbeing related issues in a professional and confidential manner including the referral to support services in a timely and appropriate manner. Provide appropriate first incident response to players who present with professional and personal issues. Ensure players are held accountable for all elements of their Individual Development Plans by being highly accessible and offering an individualised case management approach to their career needs. Complete career assessments on all players, offering accurate support or referral which enables the player to look at life beyond cricket. Provide informed advice on school or university courses, TAFE courses, vocational training programs and study strategies. Coordinate delivery of National Education Programs as directed by the ACA and CA. Maintain timely and accurate reporting in the online Athlete Development System (ADS). About You To succeed in this role, you will need the following: Bachelor level qualification in either Psychology, Counselling, Career Development, Education or similar. Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desirable). Be familiar with mental health literacy and competency in the provision of mental health and wellbeing programs for individuals and small groups. Be capable to provide career and education support to promote personal and professional development. Have outstanding interpersonal skills to build relationships with a diverse group in a high performance team environment. Be trustworthy and reliable with a proven commitment to ethical behaviour, particularly in relation to maintaining confidentiality. Possess strong results orientation with the proven ability to plan and deliver results. The Perks!
