About us The Department of Treasury and Finance provides economic, financial and resource management advice to help the Victorian Government deliver its policies. Branch The Central Partnership Team has been established to support implementation work of the Economic Growth Statement and is responsible for undertaking a multi-year, significant regulatory reform program partnering with multiple departments and regulators. The work of the Central Partnership Team also supports and is supported by the whole of Victorian Government regulatory reform program. About the role The Policy and Projects Officer will support the work of the Central Partnership Team in delivering a program of significant multi-year regulatory reform initiative. In the role, you will be required to support policy development, project management and stakeholder collaboration and deliver outcomes within strict timeframes. Critical thinking, the ability to work constructively with a wide range of stakeholders, absorb information quickly and provide succinct and accurate advice to managers are key to success in this role. The roles will be accountable to: Support the development of strategic advice and reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence responses to senior and executive management and Ministers. Support project management work including project governance, reporting, planning and the delivery of communication material about the project. Develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and peers, as well as collaborating with departments on reform. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to fostering a positive team culture. About you We are seeking applications from candidates with demonstrable experience in: Influence and stakeholder engagement: Strong skills in verbal and written communication including presenting accessible and persuasive arguments to senior decision-makers. Capacity to collaborate with a range of stakeholders at all levels. Policy and regulation knowledge: Capacity to develop and contribute to robust and practical policy advice, ideally in areas aligned with Regulation Group objectives and areas of responsibility. Understanding of the role and influence of State government in regulation policy. Conceptual and problem solving skills: Demonstrated capacity to solve complex and ambiguous problems. Experience in using economic frameworks and principles, and/or experience in policy development and advice is preferred. Teamwork and collaboration: Capacity to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders and contribute to a productive and supportive organisational culture. Capacity to work across multiple projects. Understanding of how to tailor work to provide timely and fit for purpose advice and products for key stakeholders. Experience and qualifications Tertiary qualifications in economics, public policy, law or a related field are an advantage, but not essential.
