Position of Leadership - Learning Leader Commencement Date: Monday 21st April 2025 Employment Type: Full time, Fixed Term Leadership Position (3 years) This position holds a substantive permanent teaching position within Catholic Education, Diocese of Cairns. Salary Range: Graduate $84,077 to Proficient 8 $121,092 FTE gross pa + 5 PPoL Points ($15,810 gross pa) Closing Date for Applications: 7am, Friday 28th February 2025 St Therese's School, Bentley Park St Therese's Parish School is an integral part of the Cairns Diocese and the Edmonton Parish. Located just 20 minutes south of Cairns City, St Therese's provides Catholic Education to an area that is currently referred to as the 'growth corridor' of Cairns. The school has an enrolment of approximately 620 students, Prep to Year 6. The school is proud of its rich historical story as well as the modern facilities that are now available to students, enabling a holistic and quality educational learning environment. About The Role The Learning Leader is a Primary Position of Leadership (PPOL), with an allocation of 5 POL points, responsible for ensuring quality assurance for curriculum, assessment and reporting at St Therese’s School, focusing on promoting and driving a learning culture and continuous improvement in student learning outcomes. As a member of the leadership team, the role requires that the Learning Leader models and embraces the Catholic ethos and identity of the school community. Typical duties performed may include, but are not limited to: Work is completed in a timely manner, and performed to a highly advanced quality standard Fostering a strong professional learning culture, leading opportunities that focus on building staff capacity in evidence-based processes and strategies to improve student outcomes Fostering a culture of positive accountability between colleagues by providing timely and regular updates to the line manager, leadership team and year level cohorts Monitoring, implementing, coordinating, maintaining and reviewing the Learning Framework and the school curriculum documents Delivering induction to new teaching staff, providing observations and feedback on all matters pertaining to student learning Managing and reporting expenditure against an agreed budget Managing school subscriptions associated with learning and teaching, and monitoring usage and effectiveness of programs, including digital applications, to improve student learning outcomes Developing and building capacity of staff to design and construct a comprehensive range of quality assessment tasks and associated marking guides Partnering with classroom teachers, to support the design and implementation of classroom strategies that promote student engagement and achievement Actively collaborating with teaching staff to embed cross curriculum priorities and general capabilities in curriculum planning Supervising, monitoring and providing feedback on Tier 3 teacher planning to ensure student learning is differentiated appropriately for specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities and in all year levels Collaborating and consulting with staff to co-design teaching programs that support engagement, supporting high expectations and standards, participation and learning of all students, including academic support, enrichment, and intervention Work Requirements Current QLD College of Teacher's Registration Be fully supportive of the ethos of Catholic Education Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs and those requiring learning support in a school setting What we offer Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading 12.75% Employer Superannuation Contributions Access to salary packaging options to maximise your salary Access to long service leave after 7 years of continuous service 14 Weeks’ paid parental leave Access to Employee Assistance Program For further information about the role, please download the Position Description 2025 PPOL - Learning Leader.pdf Intending applicants must be fully committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation.
