The Role: This role within the Complex Care Hub department will ensure quality physiotherapy to patients and their families post discharge, in their own home environment. You will provide short-term physiotherapy services to children and adolescents who have increased physical needs following acute hospital admission. These patients may include, but are not exclusive to, patients under the care of orthopaedics and orthopaedic surgery, neurosciences, oncology, cardiology cardiac and surgery (including post-transplant) and oncology. You will work in close collaboration with medical and other allied health staff to ensure that services provided to children at RCH are innovative, evidence-based and provided in a child and family centred manner. What you’ll achieve: Provide support and continuity of care for the patient and family Develop, in consultation with the care team, individual patient care plans Maintain, update and evaluate quality of care based on individual physiotherapy assessment Provide clinical care, advice and education in line with the clinical guidelines and relevant to the patient’s condition and clinical needs Your skills and experience: Hold a physiotherapy degree qualification from an accredited course/university Registered to practice as a Physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Satisfy the Physiotherapy Board of Australia Continuing Professional Development and Recency of Practice Guidelines Uphold the Physiotherapy Board of Australia Code of Conduct 2 years acute or community paediatric physiotherapy experience Experience working in an acute paediatric setting About Post Acute Care: The Post Acute Care (PAC) program provides short-term (up to 4 weeks) support at home to children whose healthcare needs have increased following an acute hospital admission or Emergency department presentation. The program aims to help children recover at home and prevent readmission to hospital. Why work at the RCH?
