Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Officer in Electrochemical Engineering Apply Locations: St Lucia CampusTime type: Full timePosted on: Posted 21 Days AgoJob requisition id: R-47532 School of Chemical Engineering – Faculty of EAIT Full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 2 years Base salary will be in the range $78,871.35 - $105,004.02 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level A) Based at our St Lucia Campus About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow / Research Officer to apply and develop your skills in electrochemical engineering through the design, testing and performance evaluation of protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFC) electrodes. This position is a two-year appointment in the UQ School of Chemical Engineering funded by the Australian Research Council. This opportunity will help you to develop your expertise and build your research profile as part of a multidisciplinary project team. The successful applicant is expected to contribute to service and engagement in the School of Chemical Engineering. Opportunities to develop your teaching skills may also be available during the term of the appointment. Key Responsibilities Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits. Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About You Completion or near completion of a PhD in chemical engineering, electrochemistry, or closely related discipline. Experience in laboratory research experiments with PCFC electrode design and evaluation. Strong ability to conduct novel research with limited supervision. An emerging profile in research in electrochemistry, PCFC utilisation, or green energy-related discipline. Evidence of publications in Q1 refereed journals and presenting at conferences. Evidence of successful participation in collaborations, including international and/or industry collaborations. Some experience in meaningful internal service roles and contributions towards external activities. Desirable - some knowledge in data-driven materials design or machine learning.
