Practice Manager - Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution Division: LRLS Law Reform & Legal Services Location: Parramatta, NSW, AU, 2150 Employment type: Ongoing position (35 hours) Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10, Base Salary ($125,693 – $138,510), plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Your role Are you an organised, analytical professional with a passion for driving business improvements and supporting a diverse team? Join us as a Practice Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Civil Litigation Team. This is your chance to make a significant impact in a collaborative, results-driven environment, working closely with the Director and Principal Solicitors. The primary responsibility of the Civil Litigation Team is to: Manage civil claims against DCJ, including historic abuse claims involving Youth Justice and out-of-home care, and other civil claims involving Housing, Courts Services, Corrective Services NSW, disability, and personal injury claims. Manage proceedings brought under the Family Law (Child Abduction Convention) Regulations 1986. Provide advice and liaise with internal stakeholders on matters under the Hague Convention of Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Enforcement, and Cooperation in Respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children. Meet statutory reporting obligations. What you’ll do As part of the Civil Litigation Team, you will support the Director and Principal Solicitors with a wide range of administrative and practice management responsibilities to ensure smooth operations. You will: Lead the Practice Management Team, aligning efforts with our organisational goals. Manage central workflow for administrative tasks and service delivery improvements. Oversee the onboarding and induction of new team members. Oversee data analytics, information management, and staff engagement. Take charge of a variety of reporting activities and project leadership within the team. Drive continuous improvement by providing input on processes and procedures and ensure compliance. Conduct audits as necessary to maintain standards. Organise impactful training sessions and keep documented procedures up-to-date. Communicate process updates effectively to the team. Ensure compliance with statutory reporting obligations and support the management of civil claims and related proceedings. Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including iCare and legal services providers in relation to quality assurance. Coordinate and chair monthly support staff and other team meetings. What we’re looking for Prior experience managing and supporting direct reports. Advanced excel and Microsoft 360 suite skills. Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance.
