We’re looking for a Pre Works Lead based out of our Melbourne, CBD office. We’re excited to have been awarded the Metropolitan Victorian Road Maintenance Contract – South Central Region. We’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government. And we need great people to help us do that. About the Role We have an opportunity for a Pre-Works Lead to join our team based on Collins Street! Reporting to the Planning & Optimisation (P&O) Manager, you will oversee all VRMC Works planning, scheduling preparation and dispatch, so tasks can be carried out “right first time, every time ” by the Delivery Team. This is a great opportunity to bring some new ideas! Your key responsibilities will include: Working closely with the P&O Manager and the Transport division Asset Solutions team to create the annual Routine Maintenance Program. Generating an optimised Routine Maintenance schedule that meets Section 750 requirements, with a rolling 12-month forward view, updated fortnightly. Defining, implementing and continually refining Pre-Works processes in line with Section 750 requirements and data management standards. Coordinating creation and dispatch of all work packs, incorporating traffic management and access requirements, location, scope and other information, to qualified and equipped crews. Onboarding, training and day-to-day activity and performance management of Pre-Works team members. Fostering strong working relationships with colleagues, client representatives, delivery partners, and other internal and external stakeholders. The Pre-Works Lead is a potential successor to the P&O Manager and will have regular opportunities to perform this role in an Acting capacity, as part of a structured career development program. About You: Our ideal candidate will have: Experience in planning and pre-works coordination in a road maintenance or civil works environment, so you will have a detailed understanding of practices in this environment. An inclusive approach to managing and developing your team. Strong understanding of asset management principles. Exceptional time-management skills and a proven ability to maintain effective, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Formal qualifications in a technical discipline would be highly desirable but are not essential.
