Job Description

Your role within Queensland Government Accommodation Office will support the department to sustainably manage a significant building and residential portfolio, including office accommodation, government employee residences, convention centres, heritage buildings, bridges, statues, and other property assets. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.Reporting to the Manager Accommodation Strategies, you will be responsible for planning and managing the provision of Government office accommodation within an area of geographic responsibility, and to develop and implement office accommodation policy across Government.What You Will Be Doing Leading a team responsible for managing the demand for office space within the State Government's office property portfolio. Developing and directing the implementation of whole-of-Government office accommodation strategies for Brisbane and key regional centres. Providing office accommodation planning expertise and advice to multidisciplinary teams involved in fitout projects and strategic planning for the State Government's office property portfolio. Coordinating the delivery of fitout programs funded from the Office Accommodation Program (OAP) which is a recurrent budget managed by DEPW to support fitout and relocation projects with a Whole of Government benefit. Undertaking analysis in relation to agencies' demand for office space and whole-of-Government strategies - including assessing emerging work patterns and technology, analysing the utilisation of office space, demand projections and scenario planning of accommodation solutions. Contributing to the group's responsibilities in supporting the departmental executive and executive level committees and other internal and external stakeholders in terms of demand management, strategic planning and benchmarking to facilitate continuous improvement in the operation of the portfolio. Preparing briefing notes and information papers for the executive level committees and for the departmental executive. Negotiating and representing Queensland Government Accommodation Office at senior level intra and inter-departmental meetings and at external forums. Developing networks across departments and with selected industry organisations. The Skills You Will Need Include Being Able To Demonstrated ability to comprehend architectural and services plans and experience with AutoCAD. Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven experience in the development of Executive Level communications. Demonstrated experience working in an environment of competing priorities and complexity. An ability to lead and nurture a team of professionals to achieve appropriate outcomes within an overarching organisational strategy. Experience in contemporary office design and assessment, fitout project management, and knowledge of the relevant legislation that applies to office buildings and space.
