About the Opportunity The OADG IDO provides strategic and operational support to the ADG. The OADG seeks innovative and workable solutions for infrastructure-related priorities. This is highlighted through ongoing support to key stakeholders, maintenance of departmental facilities, and the delivery of new projects and regional initiatives. About the Role As the Principal Advisor, you will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following: Consulting with departmental officers and briefing the ADG both verbally and in writing, on emergent and critical issues that may require sensitive management or immediate attention. Ensuring high-level quality assurance and critical analysis of media, correspondence, briefings, and submissions to ensure accuracy in both content and presentation, and alignment with relevant legislation and policies. Engaging in policy analysis and preparing associated briefs, reports, and submissions on specific issues as required by the Assistant Director-General. Fulfilling Human Resources requirements of the role. Investigating and analysing issues, leading and influencing others, communicating complex concepts, and making informed customer-led recommendations to senior and executive management. About You What We're Looking for in Our Principal Advisor: Strong organisational skills Flexibility to work across a number of priorities and projects Exceptional writer and communicator Excellent attention to detail and coordination skills Great at stakeholder engagement and negotiation Innovative and collaborative Commitment to building a positive workplace culture Knowledge of contemporary infrastructure service functions within a large and complex organisation is beneficial. Ability to provide guidance and support across teams to build capability.
