An exciting opportunity exists for you to contribute to our vision by leading best practice end to end project planning, delivery and governance for multiple technical projects in Flood Risk Management (FRM) programs of work through a high level of stakeholder collaboration to ensure the successful delivery of program outputs. The Resilience and Recovery Division provides leadership, direction and advice to agencies and stakeholders to ensure Queensland's disaster recovery and resilience policies and programs reduce risk, increase resilience and improve preparedness for disasters. About the Team The Hazard and Risk unit leads the development of the disaster risk management approach in Queensland, by ensuring government and communities have access to scientifically informed, reliable hazard and risk information, management processes and products that is fit for purpose and supports integrated disaster risk reduction and management practice. The unit consists of Flood Risk Management, Geographical Information Systems and Disaster Risk Management teams. About the Role Provide expert knowledge and technical input into multiple projects, including flood studies, flood risk management studies and plans, water/natural resource management and infrastructure projects, data capture to inform FRM, and associated peer review. Develop tailored project briefs outlining the scope of work to be undertaken and technical specifications consistent with current standards and guidelines. Lead collaborative multi-disciplinary project teams made up of the technical specialists procured to drive delivery of the program, along with Council representatives which may include flood engineers, disaster managers, communications and engagement, natural resource management personnel, and resilience and recovery officers/managers. Lead the planning, monitoring and reporting of multiple projects ensuring project eligibility against funding guidelines and reporting requirements. Report on the governance, scope, cost, time of projects and develop communications for a range of internal and external stakeholders. Manage project and program risks and issues through early issues identification with timely corrective actions. Provide support to the procurement and management of contracts to support deliverables for complex technical projects. Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with external stakeholders, particularly local governments and other state agencies while representing QRA's position. Lead and model highly collaborative internal relationships through the sharing of knowledge, experience and reflections as part of a wider team of multi-disciplinary specialists. Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to assist in the delivery of strategic and operational objectives by modelling collaborative relationships and a high-performance workplace culture. These roles lead or support leading a team and report to the Manager, Flood Risk Management. QRA's workforce is agile and ready to respond quickly to support disaster priorities.
