About the role As a Principal Analytics Engineer , you will join a group of awesome data professionals helping to define what modern data practices mean in a lot of Australia's best known organisations. The work we do is broad but always focused on delivering the best outcome for our clients. Within our company no two days will be the same, whether this be day-to-day tasks, industry you’re working in or the tech stack you are using. This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. Here’s a snapshot of what’s in store: Play leadership roles on a variety of data projects - from small and medium sized engagements to large and complex projects Plan analytics work, execute on the plan and manage expectations with key stakeholders Develop data pipelines, models, dashboards and reports to make data accessible to clients in a useful, timely, robust and intuitive way Utilise your expertise in enterprise & modern data platforms including data warehouse design, BI architecture, data quality, governance Work across a range of modern data tools following best DataOps practices on different cloud or hybrid data stacks Ask the right questions to understand clients’ challenges and opportunities they face and guide them to the right data solutions Support pre-sales initiatives, such as project estimation, creation of SOWs and RFP responses Communicate effectively with stakeholders who have a range of different expectations and backgrounds (including non-technical stakeholders) Provide guidance, feedback and supervision to other team members working with you on projects. Deliver awesome outcomes for our clients, which range from state government departments to nonprofits and large commercial companies Share your knowledge more broadly across the Mantel Group team We’d like to hear from you if you have: Previous experience in a hands-on data analytics role, BI or related role in a consulting organisation Demonstrated technical leadership skills and experience with leading projects of different sizes and complexity Expertise across a range of different data technologies and languages, such as SQL (mandatory), dbt, Python, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Qlik, Looker Proficiency in a broad range of data warehousing principles Experience with different data modelling approaches such as Kimball or Data Vault Ability to apply DataOps tools and practices in your data workflows, while adapting these to fit a client or team environment Ability to engage with senior level stakeholders and having a broad influence in the internal and client’s teams Prior involvement in pre-sales activities, including responses to RFP/RFTs Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring and coaching individuals across different skill levels We value diverse skill-sets, and we'd love to hear from you even if you don't meet all of the above.
