We are looking for a highly skilled assurance officer who will provide expert guidance to senior management and stakeholders on the Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) framework, ensuring the efficiency of risk-based assurance plans in alignment with the department’s Strategic Plan. This pivotal role will be responsible for executing complex assurance activities, addressing risk management, governance, compliance issues and providing leadership and direction to the assurance team. The VET Assurance team is responsible for assurance oversight of the registered training organisations (RTOs) that make up the Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) system. With a growth mindset, the team values learning and progress with innovation and building relationships. The team works with others across the department to achieve the goal of connecting people to quality training and services to prepare them for work now and in the future. About The Role As the Principal Assurance Officer, you will: Provide expert advice to senior management and stakeholders on the Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) framework and the effectiveness of SAS risk-based assurance plans in alignment with the department's Strategic Plan. Plan, manage, and conduct complex assurance activities within SAS frameworks to improve performance, identify trends, and offer recommendations. Lead assurance teams in addressing risk, governance, and compliance issues, overseeing assurance reports, and fostering a collaborative environment to achieve unit and departmental goals. Prepare high-quality written reports, including briefs and presentations, on assurance frameworks and outcomes, while representing the unit in internal and external meetings. What We Are Looking For The position requires an applicant who can: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the vocational education and training sector in Queensland, including Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) Agreements, relevant legislation, and government policies. Apply advanced compliance assurance, technological and project management skills to evaluate complex compliance matters, utilising quality management systems, assurance principles, and evidence-based evaluation techniques. Lead and manage assurance teams, fostering a supportive environment and ensuring accountability for high-quality results through professionalism, ethical decision-making, and transparency. Communicate effectively, producing clear, concise, and tailored advice and recommendations for diverse internal and external stakeholders regarding SAS framework and Agreement compliance.
