Southern Queensland Correctional Precinct Stage 2; Organisational Capability; Brisbane The Principal Consultant (Health and Safety) will establish and embed the workplace health and safety, wellbeing and injury management frameworks as these apply to SQCP-S2 operational requirements.Leveraging from existing frameworks deployed across the organisation by the People Capability Command’s (PCC) Health Safety and Wellbeing teams, this role will directly support the Superintendent (Strategic People and Communications) and the Superintendent (Culture, Safety and Wellbeing) to implement the systems, practices, policies, services and programs that will build and promote a sustainable workplace health, safety and wellbeing culture for SQCP-S2.As such, partnering with the various PCC work units and with other areas of the business will help to ensure fit-for-purpose, operationally holistic safety management systems for SQCP-S2. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement and embed compliant health, safety, wellbeing and injury management systems, services and programs, aligned with PCC, Custodial Operations and QCS objectives. Provide expert direction and support to SQCP-S2 Project Managers, workstream leads, team members and other stakeholders in relation to the design and commissioning of SQCP-S2, and to support the design of health, safety, wellbeing and injury management operational frameworks relevant to SQCP-S2 and QCS. Build strategic partnerships to ensure a ‘sustainable safety culture' underpins decision making. Navigate complex situations and competing priorities in the production of high-quality project deliverables aligned with SQCP-S2 and QCS operating models. Contribute to the effective coordination of project change, communication and stakeholder engagement activities to support the Project Operations Team workstream. Assist with complex data collection, analysis, forecasting, research, and consultations that inform operating model and commissioning recommendations in relation to health, safety and wellbeing. Prepare high quality reports, briefing notes, and presentations - both scheduled and ad-hoc - on designated project activities, outcomes and recommendations.
