Queensland Fire Department Enterprise IT Solutions & Services As a department our purpose is to help the community to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events. Purpose of role Enterprise IT Solutions and Services is responsible for the management and delivery of enterprise business systems, business platforms, data and integration systems, and information management. The Design and Architecture Services team is responsible to ensure QFD systems, solutions and platforms are designed, implemented and aligned to our guiding principles and implementation frameworks. Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of solution architecture activities. You will create deliverables, architecture design and define the multi-year technology roadmap for managing the department's portfolio of 'to be' and 'as is' solutions where it relates to information and data management, integration services, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation services. You will work closely with key stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the right advice and direction is provided in relation to building data and integration-centric offerings and helping our customers face technical challenges as they transition from traditional integration platforms to service-oriented architectures and management processes to support the department's operations and organizational capability. Key requirements Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments and/or system analysis activities on complex Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products. Experience across Data Integration Technologies, such as ETL Tools, integration and middleware platforms such as (Mulesoft, Boomi or cloud-native services in Azure or AWS). Demonstrated experience in data pipeline and familiarity with real-time data streaming architecture. Awareness and understanding of AI and Machine Learning models, and awareness of ICT framework or similar process methodologies and/or qualification in Information Technology or Computer Science. Experience in hybrid environments integrating on-premises and cloud solutions. Strong SQL and Data modelling skills with ability to query and manipulate data across multiple databases and awareness of the various data models (e.g. NoSQL). Knowledge and/or experience in both waterfall, agile and/or PRINCE 2 project methodologies. Your key accountabilities Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to: Contribute to the development and review of foundation and solution roadmaps, blueprints, plans and designs, applying best practice integration and brokerage principles and practices to ensure successful implementation of business initiatives. Lead the continued development of the Data Framework and enterprise data architecture, including master data management and Integration services. Contribute to the design of technology and business integration solutions that address issues and risks, provide value to clients, and ensure solutions comply with relevant legislation and industry standards. Research and evaluate data integration, AI, automation and cloud services trends, including new and emerging technologies that could enable better integration solution designs that deliver new and innovative products and services. Provide advice and guide business leaders and subject matter experts to drive innovation, efficiency and effectiveness with a culture of collaboration and customer centricity that is focused on the best outcomes for the department. Produce integration architecture diagrams and solution design documents, which show how the business requirements are being met, inform investment decisions, and/or initiate projects that optimise and transform the integration solution design. Prepare and review complex reports, submissions and briefings, ensuring accurate and appropriate response relating to integration technology issues and solutions, in accordance with departmental requirements. Build and maintain effective networks and liaisons, between internal teams, projects and other internal and external stakeholders to negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes in the development of enterprise architecture.
