Agriculture and Fisheries (Organisation site ( ) )Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce; National Fire Ant Eradication Program; Biosecurity Queensland; Brisbane City Find purpose you feel, impact you see and a legacy you bring to life. #DAFcareers The opportunity as our Principal Engagement Officer, you will: Supervise and coordinate a small team of engagement officers, ensuring effective delivery of communication and engagement activities. Demonstrate strong project management skills to adhere to project timelines and goals. Lead the strategic planning of engagement initiatives and promotional campaigns, to effectively engage the community and stakeholders to self-manage fire ants in the suppression area. Develop, implement, and evaluate community and stakeholder engagement activities including regular promotional campaigns, events, workshops and presentations. Provide strategic, data-driven advice on marketing matters by maintaining sophisticated knowledge of latest marketing practices and innovations and analyse the performance of engagement activities, adjusting strategies to optimise outcomes. Oversee the development of communication materials, media releases, reports, correspondence, GACC submissions and briefing notes and ensure they align with broader strategic and operational goals and adapt to changing circumstances. Develop and maintain budgets for communication and engagement activities and deliver regular reports on progress, outcomes, and the effectiveness of engagement initiatives. Lead the procurement of communication products and services. Coordinate research, analysis and evaluation of communication and engagement activities to ensure maximum effectiveness and to address any information gaps. Develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal collaborators within the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, Biosecurity Queensland and DPI, and with a broad range of external Taskforce partners including government and industry. You may also have - Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or relevant transferable experience would be desirable. An understanding of biosecurity response activities and/or experience in applying your capabilities in a response environment will be highly regarded.
