Do work that matters In this role, you will provide technical thought leadership to define, develop, and implement our enterprise architecture for Engineering. You will drive the delivery of Reference Architecture for key engineering initiatives and serve as the “go to” authority for Enterprise and Solution Architects throughout the organization. By integrating best-in-class SDLC, DevSecOps, and SRE practices, you will help elevate our engineering maturity and enable a more product-focused approach across the enterprise. See yourself in our team As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you will collaborate within a cross-functional Architecture community, partnering closely with senior stakeholders, Product teams, Engineering and Infrastructure teams to shape our technology strategy. Your span of influence will be across critical projects, where you will mentor senior technical staff, as well as ensure that architecture decisions support our broader business goals and customer needs. You will also play a key role in guiding the adoption of tools, frameworks, and processes that drive continuous improvement and uplift engineering maturity across the organisation. In this role you will: Develop and assess strategies for engineering-focused enterprise architecture and roadmap development, incorporating SDLC, DevSecOps, and SRE principles. Lead IT research and development efforts, evaluating emerging tools, frameworks, and methodologies that support a higher level of engineering maturity. Make recommendations, gain approval, and develop implementation strategies for technologies that meet or exceed non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security, scalability). Evaluate and recommend product selections, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, modern engineering practices, and technology standards. Define and maintain business and technical operating procedures and standards, promoting consistency and excellence across engineering teams. Identify application and business requirements by actively engaging with technical teams, clients, and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with product-focused objectives. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, recommending, and driving adoption of solutions that strengthen our engineering and operational resilience. Validate solution architectures against the established Reference Architecture, ensuring adherence to best practices, security requirements, and policy compliance. Deliver and govern Enterprise Architecture frameworks, policies, and standards, specifically tailored for engineering domains, and aligned with DevSecOps and SRE best practices. Own and deliver the Enterprise Reference Architecture, guiding strategic investment decisions that future-proof our engineering landscape and streamline product development cycles. We are interested in hearing from people who: Bring extensive experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture roles, ideally with a focus on large-scale, distributed systems. Have deep technical expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go). Demonstrate practical experience in SDLC, DevSecOps, and SRE, particularly within product-oriented enterprise environments. Excel at uplifting engineering maturity through the introduction of new technologies, frameworks, and processes that enhance product development. Embrace agile and DevOps principles, with a proven history of driving CI/CD automation and continuous improvement. Possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into actionable business value.
