This role will see you steer the design of impactful solutions, foster partnerships to drive technological progress, and tap into emerging trends to guide digital evolution. The Strategy and Transformation unit works across the Queensland Government sector to facilitate the modernisation of its approach to funding, procuring and delivering digital services and technologies, and to support development of core and common systems that optimise use of public funds. Key Responsibilities Some of the key responsibilities of the Principal Enterprise Architect include: Provide strategic and technical advice and develop briefs and business cases to inform investment decisions, and initiate projects that optimise and transform digital corporate services valued by QGCDG customers. Review detailed designs developed by projects and subject matter experts providing feedback in a positive and collaborative approach. Develop functional and technology solution roadmaps, blueprints, plans and designs using best practice architectural methodologies. Lead the design of technology and business solutions that address issues and risks and provide value to QGCDG customers. Ensure governance and alignment between various strategies and designs, and alignments with government, agency and QGCDG policies, frameworks and strategies. Represent QGCDG and its interests and develop and maintain partnerships with other professionals across government, industry and the department to share information in the discovery of innovation. Research and evaluate trends of digitisation in the industry including new and emerging technologies that could be integrated to deliver new and innovative products and services. Mentor and guide business leaders and subject matter experts throughout QGCDG to drive innovation, efficiency and effectiveness with a culture of collaboration and customer centricity that is focused on the best outcomes for QGCDG and Government. Skills and Experience We think you'll thrive in the role with the following skills and experience: Proven experience in the design and implementation of roadmaps, strategies, plans, policies, designs and frameworks and the ability to identify challenges and mitigate risks. Strategic leadership experience in a complex change environment, including managing stakeholder expectations during times of change and ambiguity. Ability to lead the design and development of appropriate functional solutions, focusing on opportunities for improvement and establishing clear implementation plans and timeframes. Expertise in current Queensland Government policies and strategies and industry standards for cyber and information security, IT infrastructure, software development, data architectures, cloud computing, and emerging technologies. Ability to build and sustain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Extensive written and verbal communication skills including ability to develop significant technical documents, reports and briefing papers, ensuring alignment to regulatory legislation, policies and frameworks. On 1 November 2024, the Queensland Government Customer and Digital Group (QGCDG) transitioned from the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) to the newly established Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. As a result, this position will continue to be part of QGCDG but will no longer be part of DTMR. The conditions and entitlements that apply to the new CDSB are still to be determined and may differ to those advertised.
