This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis. About the Role The Finance team within Facilities Management Services is a small team of four overseeing a $200 million annual budget for a number of diverse areas including school utilities, sustainability, regional office management, departmental fleet and conference services. You will supervise two Administration Officers who process invoices, cost recoveries and other administrative tasks, and you will report to the Manager. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Verifying financial information and contributing to financial submissions and briefs; Approving invoice payments and journals; Assisting with procurement processes including the preparation of paperwork and provision of advice; Ensuring adherence to financial and procurement policies and procedures; Financial reporting including end of month reports and forecasting; Providing accurate and timely specialist advice and assistance on financial management policies, procedures, standards and systems; Working with and mentoring the team to build team capability and implement process improvement. To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess: A strong drive for implementing process improvement initiatives and sharing quality ideas for improvement; A keen eye for attention to detail with confidence in identifying errors and escalating issues; Well-developed organisational skills to manage an administration team and ensure timely and efficient processing of BAU work; Good financial literacy and comfortable working with data and spreadsheets. Familiarity with departmental finance and procurement policies/procedures is desirable but not mandatory - you will learn on the job.
