Our Surgical Team plays a crucial role in delivering safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. We are now seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated Principal House Officer (PHO) to join our team and contribute to the excellent patient care we provide across both hospitals. As a Principal House Officer in the Surgical Team, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills and experience by working alongside experienced surgeons, registrars & nursing teams in a dynamic hospital environment whilst enjoying the balance of work & lifestyle that Wide Bay offers. Your opportunity: To participate in the provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable clinical service to the hospital patients in consultation with consultants, visiting specialists, nurses and allied health professionals. To contribute to the continual upgrading of medical education, and dissemination of knowledge to staff and patients. The appointment will be to the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service for the provision of services to Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospitals. A Principal House Officer is a medical practitioner in the third or subsequent year of practical experience after eligibility for full registration as a medical practitioner. Temporary Full Time (76 hours p.f.) from 4th August 2025 for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Our offer: You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $166,798 p.a., comprising salary between $129,583 - $142,727 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) and vocational training subsidy (L4-L7) (Temporary Full Time, 76 hours p.f., from 4th August 2025 for 12 months with the possibility of extension).
