About Your Opportunity Reporting to our Manager Governance & Company Secretary, you will develop strategies aligned with operational goals, overseeing the annual insurance renewal, assessing policies, recommending enhancements, and managing claims. Collaborating across the business, you will ensure effective risk management to protect Seqwater’s assets and support long-term success. Key responsibilities: Provide expert guidance to Seqwater leadership on complex, high-value insurance risks, offering strategic recommendations to select the most suitable commercial insurance solutions. Collaborate with Seqwater’s insurance broker and key business risk owners to craft and present tailored annual renewal proposals for Seqwater’s insurance program, aligning with evolving needs and the organisation’s risk profile and appetite. Stay ahead of market trends by monitoring regulatory shifts and insurance market changes, ensuring Seqwater’s practices adapt to maintain optimal protection. Drive impactful risk management outcomes by designing robust insurance contingencies and conducting thorough site inspections for continuous risk improvement. About you To be successful in this role, you will possess: Tertiary qualification in Business / Legal or a related discipline Diploma of General Insurance (highly desirable). Proven experience in insurance and third-party claims and recoveries management, acquired from a large commercial insurer or within the public or private sector. Relevant professional experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of insurance principles and practices. Proven experience in leading a corporate insurance function, with a focus on enhancing financial viability and promoting business sustainability. Experience in claims management and insurance placement, driving business improvement, exceptional customer service, and commercial efficiency. Well-established connections within the Australian insurance market, with experience collaborating with claims and underwriting groups. Familiarity with the insurance legislative framework relevant to the Queensland water sector, or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to these requirements. Unrestricted drivers licence for a motor vehicle. Alignment with Seqwater values. This position has a salary starting at $132,491 plus 12.75% superannuation and is a permanent full-time role. Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements.
