Education (Organisation site)Services and Infrastructure Planning Branch - Infrastructure Services Division The School Network Planning team within Services Planning, Infrastructure Services Division (ISD) is seeking a dynamic Principal Planning Officer to join a high-performing team. The Services Planning unit works closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify and prioritise school infrastructure to support enrolment growth over the short, medium and longer term within Queensland. The team facilitates the development of infrastructure programs to make sure we plan well for all of Queensland's communities. The School Network Planning team has a temporary full-time vacancy until 29th August 2025. The Opportunity: As a member of the Services Planning team you will: Support the prioritisation of infrastructure projects to support population growth with a focus on the expansion of existing schools. Prepare correspondence, reports, and briefings for senior internal and external stakeholders and governance bodies. Undertake detailed analysis of school and population growth trends and communicate outcomes from this analysis. Contribute to the development of business cases to support major infrastructure investments over the short, medium, and long term. Achieving success: The successful Principal Planning Officer will possess the following skills, experience, and personal attributes: Effective communication, consultation, and negotiation skills with a proven ability to meet client needs, represent the department and maintain mutually productive partnerships with stakeholders including local government, other state government agencies and other internal and external stakeholder groups. Demonstrated ability to work well in a high performing team and establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information to a range of different stakeholders including the use of data to support recommendations as required. Ability to manage competing priorities and objectives within tight timeframes. A positive and collaborative approach to complex issues and enjoys working as a team to develop solutions.
