The Policy Funding Negotiations - Early Years team (National Strategy) is seeking a Principal Policy Officer to join our small team to advance critical policy initiatives that contribute to our vision of equity and excellence across early childhood, school, and tertiary education, including the Preschool Reform Agreement and Productivity Commission Final Report, A pathway to universal early childhood education and care. This is a temporary full-time position, for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined. About The Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coordinate and undertake extensive policy development and research activities on initiatives and issues affecting the future direction of early childhood education, school education and tertiary education in Queensland. Lead significant projects to develop future-oriented strategies and policies for early childhood education, school education, and tertiary education. Identify, analyze, and provide leadership on strategic issues and formulate innovative and workable policy options and solutions. Assess strategic issues and policy initiatives including those occurring locally, nationally, and internationally and provide high-level strategic advice to the Minister, the Director-General, and the Senior Executive of the department. Provide executive support to senior officers, including preparation of major policy papers, briefings, reports, and submissions including Cabinet submissions.
