Principal Primary Design Engineer – Melbourne - $200,000 – $250,000 + super + bonus Renewable Energy Substation Design and Transmission Full time, Permanent JD Ross Energy are partnered with a leading distribution provider in VIC. Due to extensive pipeline growth, they are looking to add a Principal Primary Design Engineer to the team. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical expertise in the design of Substation layouts up to 500kv. Joining a large team, you will work on HV projects across Melbourne and will provide technical expertise on all projects. These projects include large scale solar, wind, battery energy storage and data centres. You will be mentoring Juniors, taking charge of creating and implementing processes, procedures, and templates aimed at enhancing the efficiency and quality of engineering results. Additionally, you will review engineering deliverables, provide technical authority sign-off, and step in as the project lead when necessary. About the role: To provide substation layouts and associated detail diagrams To develop technical specifications and material schedules for primary equipment. To check and approve project documentation in accordance with established standards. To ensure own work packages and delegated work packages are delivered to project programme, scope and align to allocated budget. Provide comment where required on delegated works. Provide technical support and to develop tender scheme options and related project scope documents. To produce engineering time estimates and support monthly forecasts to complete. To provide technical support at site when required. Insulation Co-ordination Studies Single Line Diagrams Earthing design & commissioning You must be happy to mentor junior engineers in the team, sharing your knowledge and expertise with them About you: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering Proven knowledge of Transmission or Distribution practices with extensive experience working on HV projects Good teamwork, Analytical and communication skills Why Apply?
