Professional 3 Remuneration Package Range: $130,087 - $145,485 (including salary $110,873 - $124,173) Position: Rangelands Division Land Assessment Branch/REALM Type: Full time, ongoing vacancy Location: Palmerston, Northern Territory Key Responsibilities: Be part of the Regional Ecosystem and Landscape Mapping (REALM) program. Collate, analyse and integrate vegetation, soil and landscape data. Create landscape and ecosystem maps and information products. The Department of Lands, Planning and Environment (DLPE) was established with a clear vision that the Northern Territory's natural assets are managed sustainably for the benefit of all. The Department is leading a new Regional Ecosystem and Landscape Mapping (REALM) program that will underpin Territory wide land use planning, economic development, conservation initiatives and improved land management. Positioned within DLPE, the Land Assessment Branch is recruiting a Principal Vegetation Ecologist to lead the vegetation component of the Regional Ecosystem and Landscape Mapping (REALM) program in the Northern Territory. Qualifications and Requirements: To be successful, you require relevant scientific qualifications, on-ground experience and knowledge of Australian vegetation guidelines and classification systems. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with scientific, non-scientific and Traditional Owners is essential. Additionally, the ability to obtain a manual NT Driver's licence and operate a four-wheel drive in off-road conditions is required.
