Job Description
This position provides leadership to the local PQM team and promotes technical project facilitation for clients. This role promotes efficiency in determining print feasibility, print sample evaluation and reporting results through individual job evaluation and project kick-off. He/she is the technical liaison to the client. Responsibilities: Oversee the use of technical print specifications and guidelines within the packaging development process in cooperation with adjacent teams to meet project timelines in an efficient manner. Provide technical leadership and input throughout the artwork production process. Lead the local PQM team and facilitate team cross-training. Develop team members' skills and technical proficiency. Identify process bottlenecks and communication deficiencies; develop and present a plan for improvement. Investigate team workload distribution and options to help with load-balancing and work prioritization. Build positive working relationships with the client, Account Management team, local Artwork Project Managers, Production team and Global Color team. Ensure accurate capture of data and metrics; evaluate and determine where improvements can be made. Follow documented process to communicate and resolve potential issues and avoid delays. Provide root cause analysis after an unavoidable incident; propose improvement plan to avoid reoccurrence. Other tasks such as project investigation and facilitation as assigned by the manager. Position Requirements: 5 years' experience in design, artwork, prepress, printing in the packaging industry. Knowledge of printing pack type/substrates and post-treatment experience. Understand corporate guidelines and communicate concerns and needs effectively. Project and time management experience. Industry knowledge - good understanding of general artwork development to printing sample quality principle and process. Printing knowledge on different printing processes (Flexo, offset, Dry offset, gravure, etc.). Proactively communicate with the team and managers, ensuring crucial information is shared promptly.
