The Role: The Process Improvement Officer will be an integral part of the ICT Team, working closely with key stakeholders from roles within the business. The role will lead the development and implementation of Business Intelligence to meet the Reporting needs of B1 Homes and will partner with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to support the delivery of innovative and optimised performance reporting. A key focus of the role will be on delivering modernised financial reporting. Key Accountabilities: Develop reports and dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft SSRS and other reporting tools for key stakeholders Translate business needs and requirements directly into analytics/reporting outputs and provide business context to key stakeholders Develop and embed self-service analytics across the organisation through user-friendly Power BI and SSRS reports and dashboards, providing a single source of the truth. Including the development of exception reports (highlighting the current issues). Work with the key business leaders to support, challenge and influence their thinking and assist them to make sound commercial decisions based on the data presented. Perform ad-hoc analytics to answer stakeholder questions through data and communicate your findings in an easy to visualise and interpret format. Skills Knowledge and Experience: Must have strong experience in utilising tools and systems on the Microsoft Power BI/Fabric environment and with Microsoft SSRS Experience in the SQL language itself (creating and modifying stored procedures, views, ability to translate and understand what a query is doing and fine tune queries for improved performance) Ability to quickly stage & shape data from data sources into reporting and analytics solutions with a strong focus on user experience design and making data easily consumable to key management stakeholders Deep understanding of database fundamentals, including relational database design, multidimensional database design and using disparate systems and API’s to merge data from multiple systems. Provide application analysis and data modelling design to collect data for centralized data warehouse. Extract data from databases and data warehouses for reporting and to facilitate sharing between multiple data systems. Data Modelling - construct efficient and meaningful representations of data. You are able to design data structures that take into account access patterns, simplicity of human understanding, and maintainability of data. Additionally, experience in the construction industry can be highly valuable. This industry-specific knowledge provides a unique perspective on the data, enabling you to tailor your analytics to the specific needs and challenges of construction projects. Understanding the intricacies of construction workflows, project management, and cost estimation can significantly enhance your ability to provide actionable insights and drive data-driven decisions that align with industry standards and practices.
