Procurement & Inventory Management Team Member Wanted! Metro Hobbies, with locations in Melbourne, VIC, has been serving hobby enthusiasts of all ages for over 40 years. The company specializes in a wide range of products including model kits, collectables, model trains, slot cars, radio control models, puzzles, Lego, toys, games and more. Role Description This is a full-time role for a Procurement & Inventory Management Team Member at Metro Hobbies. The role entails managing key operational processes, including database and inventory management, purchase order coordination, and stock replenishment. You will work closely with both the local team and suppliers to ensure accurate data and timely order fulfilment. The position is primarily based in Notting Hill/Clayton, Victoria. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Database Management: Create new products in the system, including setting up correct product groups, suppliers, weights, dimensions, UPCs, tags, cost prices, and retail prices (where applicable). Remove discontinued products and update existing product information. Reconcile supplier databases with internal stock on hand to maintain accurate inventory. Purchase Order Management: Reconcile backorders with suppliers on a weekly or monthly basis. Prepare and upload purchase orders to SAP. Provide reports on pricing and margin variances based on received purchase orders. Investigate and report on stock discrepancies and liaise with the local team and suppliers to resolve variances. Communicate relevant supply chain data with the sales and operations teams. Prepare reports for replenishment planning and assist with forward planning and order creation. Manage, allocate, and coordinate stock replenishment into stores based on sales and stock on hand reports. Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems and inventory database management (SAP B1 and Data Transfer Workbench experience is a plus). Strong Analytical Skills for data assessment and decision-making. Experience in Procurement processes and procedures. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team. Knowledge of inventory management systems is a plus.
