Our talented team delivers cracking content to our audience across Southern NSW, North East Victoria, the Goulburn Valley and beyond. We work together to support one another, meet our audience’s needs and the expectations of the ABC News strategy. We are looking for a Breakfast Presenter with a contemporary and conversational on-air style and an ability to produce engaging audience-focused content across multiple platforms. Under the general direction of the Local Editor, the role will include: Contributing to the planning and commissioning process, developing and distributing new story ideas that will engage local and national audiences. Contributing to the implementation of the Local Emergency Coverage plan, engaging with stakeholders and providing ongoing updates for local and national audiences. Generating stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country. About You You have a naturally conversational on-air style and a sense of the stories that will enthral audiences on-air and across online and social media platforms. You will also bring: Naturally collaborative workstyle. Detailed understanding of stories and issues that affect the local audience. Accomplished editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise reliable judgement. Advanced ability to use all software and hardware relevant to this role.
