The Role We’re looking for a new Product Director - Search & Data who will be responsible for the Search and Data Engineering portfolios across our redbubble.com and teepublic.com marketplaces! You will lead the product management strategy of four teams to unlock value from our significant data assets to help customers discover the right product for them from our catalog of billions of SKUs. This role requires effective leadership experience with demonstrated ability to build and grow product teams and contribute to a constructive, high performing company culture. As a lean organisation with ambitious goals, there will also be hands-on activities required at times, such as story-writing, data analysis, and tactical decision-making. You will collaborate closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of seniority to ensure alignment and effective decision-making across US and AU geographies. Key Accountabilities Define and drive our search and marketplace data strategy, ensuring alignment across teams. Develop and refine a compelling product vision and roadmap to maximize business impact. Leverage data, AI, and Generative AI to enhance search relevance, ranking, personalization and continuously improve customer discovery experiences. Conduct market analysis and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and refine the marketplace experience. Partner with engineering, data science, and design to build and deploy cutting-edge search algorithms. Monitor key performance metrics and drive continuous improvements. Prioritise initiatives that balance ambition against risk to ensure maximum impact and return on investment. Foster collaboration across engineering, design, marketing, and business teams to align data-driven initiatives with company goals. Translate product strategy into tangible objectives and targets, leading discovery initiatives for allocated segments across the marketplaces. Lead and inspire a high-performing team, driving success against key objectives while fostering positive engagement. Develop and mentor team members through training, professional growth opportunities, and succession planning. Provide meaningful feedback to support performance, career progression, and goal achievement. Champion best practices in product management, coaching and guiding others to success. What You'll Bring Significant experience in product management, with experience in search, discovery, recommendations and data strategy. Strong leadership and people management skills - able to motivate, challenge, grow and retain a small global team across timezones. Proven track record in AI-powered search, ranking models, machine learning and data-driven personalization. Understanding of user experience and customer insight-driven product management principles, with hands-on experience in experimentation, A/B testing and modern GenAI tools to drive innovation. Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration to build and scale modern e-commerce search and data platforms. Awareness and experience with marketing technology and advertising platforms and their Familiarity with data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and their application for business value. Understanding of e-commerce dynamics, including customer acquisition, transaction funnels and financial aspects of online marketplaces.
