We are now looking for a Sales Manager – Port & Vessel Traffic Management Systems for Asia Pacific to join our team. We are strengthening our global team with flexibility in presence across the world depending on where the expertise and competence resides. The position for this role is in Sydney. You will be part of a global team that develops business strategies which drive growth and profitability, support sales performance through providing a steady flow of new leads and opportunities, and leverage high-level customer experience. This role focuses on Port- and Vessel Traffic Management product offerings including simulation solutions and reports to the GM Product Sales - Ports Optimisation. What will you be doing: Build and develop strong and professional customer relationships Execute sales strategy and drive profitable sales growth Collect in-depth knowledge about customers' business (e.g., port operations, Simulation and Training) and relevant needs Account management Be a subject matter expert to customers Lead tender responses and manage bid teamsSecure accurate and timely production of bid documentation, sales quotations and associated proposals, including timely submissions Deliver and support product presentations and demos to customers in projects or at conferences Conduct market intelligence and provide customer- and market inputs for product development Tailor sales material (e.g., PPT presentation for customer meeting) Collaborate with marketing to drive consultative selling Project Partner management Close cooperation with our project delivery team, product management, and advisory services Main requirements in this role are (you will shine in this role when): Have relevant (higher) education, work experience and a proven track record in successfully driving sales in challenging markets and tender business In-depth knowledge of the marine industry and customer requirements in Port Operations and Vessel Traffic management environment Good knowledge or exposure to relevant products and solutions (VTS, VTMS, PMIS, SIM, etc.) in the market Strong customer focus and capability of building long-term relationships in complex buyer relationships Strong drive for performance with a positive attitude Good communication skills (customer and colleagues) Think strategically, but have the ability to balance tactical and strategic issues Strong attention to detail and ability to take ownership of tasks Encourage the exchange of ideas and collaboration across organizational boundaries Strong contributor towards developing a healthy team spirit and team dynamics In addition, as an ideal candidate you: Understand Wärtsilä Purpose and demonstrate Wärtsilä values Understand the value of collaboration and the benefits it brings Have high integrity, listen with good intention, appreciate feedback and support people to grow Achieve results with excellent planning and execution Take accountability for own results Work with high passion and drive Have a can-do attitude with a growth mindset to challenges Strong collaborator and team player across all levels and areas of the organisation Why you and us: All our employees are encouraged to utilise the variety of training activities, learning solutions and self-study materials that we have to offer which supports the opportunity to further develop your talents and competencies within a very global working environment, in an ambitious and growth-oriented organisation.
