Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Duty Supervisor is responsible for the provision of knowledge, experience, motivation, support, training and recommendations to Team Leaders and production employees. The Duty Supervisor is responsible for the management of shift production objectives, employee productivity and workplace safety. The Duty Supervisor is accountable for ensuring that the production schedule is adhered to, with countermeasures implemented, as required, to manage day to day production and worker issues. The Duty Supervisor is responsible for production worker training and development, the instruction of Standard Operating Procedures, the safe and appropriate use of tools and equipment, and ongoing guidance on how to improve quality and/or efficiencies during production. About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Morning and Afternoon Shift Production Supervisor to join our fresh food manufacturing facility based in Smeaton Grange, Sydney. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take on a key operational leadership role and assist with all production related activities while enhancing our operations, mentoring your enthusiastic direct reports, and maintaining a focus on exceeding team and company targets. A day in the life Support operations and guide the focus of your team to ensure efficiencies are at a maximum with both people and machinery. Mentor, develop and lead your team leaders to take charge of daily production. Create a product quality focus amongst teams that is upheld every day. Identify and initiate continuous improvements in production processes and procedures. Provide support to the Operations Manager on the site to deliver production throughputs and casefill. Foster a strong sense of Work Health and Safety. Achieve stock control and WIP targets. Enhance workplace planning and scheduling. About you Experience in FMCG or Short Shelf Life processing and manufacturing. Experience with continuous improvement – advantageous but not essential. Initiative, positively participate & lead by example. A collaborative, and ‘can do’ attitude to achieve successful outcomes. Refined communication skills and ability to build relationships and lead a team. A ‘hands-on’ approach to management. Ability to work afternoon shift commencing at 2:00pm. Desired Skills and Experience Experience in a team leader or supervisory role in a similar industry (FMCG/Manufacturing). Strong leadership and people management skills, including the ability to develop and inspire others. GMP, Food Safety, Workplace Health and Safety training and experience. Solid mechanical aptitude. Strong analytical skills, problem solving and continuous improvement mindset. Ability to implement change. Strong planning and organisational skills. Agile in work approach and ability to respond to changing priorities and production demand in a timely and efficient manner. Solid interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated emotional intelligence and influence. Hands on team player, who leads by example. Ability to effectively manage and resolve difficult situations and people challenges. Sets and achieves high standards of performance for self and others. Demonstrated ability to build constructive relationships with all stakeholders and contributes effectively to the overall needs and direction of the business.
