The Company’s operating structure comprises three regional business units focused on enabling and executing corporate strategy. Two divisions – Santos Energy Solutions and Santos Upstream Gas and Liquids – are accountable for global portfolio management and strategy. About the Role Based between the Brisbane office and field sites, this position is responsible for safe remote operation and optimisation of Upstream assets including facilities, wells, and pipelines. The role is a critical interface for commercial operations, third party operators, field-based operations, maintenance, development, and drilling & completion teams. This is a rostered position which consists of a series of night/day shifts and rostered days off (RDOs), while working in the Brisbane Control Room. It is then followed by time in the field and an extended period of fixed Annual Leave. For health and safety purposes, you are required to live within 1 hour commute of the Santos Brisbane office and be a resident of QLD. Key accountabilities include: Safely operate assets remotely in partnership with field-based teams to optimise production and minimize emissions in line with agreed strategies. Application of control room processes compliant with Operations Excellence standards, including managing alarms and shift handovers. Address safety and production critical issues, providing daily situational reports for field teams. Validate production data, report volumes, and analyse equipment for early detection of potential failures. Collaborate with internal teams and third-party agreements to maximise business value. Interface with engineering teams for improvement projects related to remote control and systems. Maintain strong communication with Maintenance, Drilling & Completions, and Development teams to achieve production and maintenance targets. About You We are looking for a motivated Production Controller with an operational background. Previous experience in a centralised control room (or similar) is highly favourable.This role requires: A strong work ethic, able to work independently. The ability to balance priorities in a rapidly evolving environment. Clear communication skills. Your sound understanding and prior use of MS Office suite is required. Other desirable systems experience includes SAP, Success Factors, P2 Apollo, Spotfire or PowerBI. Ideally, you will have tertiary qualification and/or relevant trade certificate however relevant experience in similar roles will be taken into consideration.
