Add expected salary to your profile for insights As the Production Engineering Manager at Matrix Composites & Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the production engineering operations of our industry-leading advanced manufacturing facility, located in Henderson, Western Australia . In this full-time position, you will be responsible for the development, planning and implementing safe, efficient and effective production processes. You will also lead process improvements while ensuring that plant, equipment and facilities comply with both business and legislative requirements. This role is based in sunny Perth, and we welcome applications from local candidates as well as those from further afield, including the UK and the Australian East Coast. Relocation support is available for the right individual. What you will be doing In this role, you will: Lead and manage the production engineering team, ensuring tasks are effectively delegated and completed on schedule. Oversee production engineering operations to maintain efficient, high-quality, and safe manufacturing processes in an advanced manufacturing environment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives , optimising manufacturing areas for efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Conduct time studies and resource assessments to refine and enhance production processes. Develop and present capital expenditure proposals for new or replacement plant and equipment. Supervise the installation and commissioning of new production equipment , including operator training and process integration. Provide specialist engineering support to minimise downtime and improve maintenance and production efficiency. Identify and implement emerging manufacturing technologies to drive innovation and operational improvements. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations , by developing and enforcing safe work procedures. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement , providing strong leadership and representing the business at all levels. What we are looking for To play a part in our continued growth and success, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual with : Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical manufacturing role At least 3 years’ leadership experience in a production or engineering environment Strong knowledge of process improvement techniques, such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing A solid understanding of project management techniques Experience working with SCADA systems Excellent communication, problem solving and decision-making skills Exceptional planning and organisational skills Desirable skills and experience The following would be highly regarded: A degree qualification in Engineering or related discipline A background in advanced manufacturing and process automation Knowledge of composites / polymer production or related manufacturing processes Familiarity with CAD software What we offer At Matrix, we are committed to providing our employees with a rewarding and fulfilling work experience .
