Full-time appointment on a tenurable basis. Base salary range: Level E, $214,203 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation. About the area The School of Engineering is a multidisciplinary school offering education and research in a number of engineering disciplines, including biomedical, civil, environmental, mining, chemical, mechanical, electrical and electronic, and automation and robotics. The School of Engineering has an established and dedicated team of teaching and research academics providing undergraduate and post-graduate programmes across multiple engineering disciplines. The Microelectronics Research Group in the School of Engineering encompasses a number of research facilities related to semiconductor device technologies and optical microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), including molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), clean-room device fabrication, device packaging and bonding, as well as numerous testing and characterization facilities. The Group’s research activities are focused on optical MEMS and infrared imaging array technologies, with particular emphasis on applications in aerospace and defence. About the opportunity Drive excellence in teaching, research, and curriculum development, overseeing the ANFF WA Node and MRG. Lead innovative, funded research, publish internationally, and foster cross-disciplinary initiatives. Contribute to governance, mentor staff, and represent UWA in external professional and community activities. About you PhD in an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to the discipline. Sustained major funding success as lead investigator to support researcher driven and demand driven research from competitive grant sources, industry, government, charities and/or philanthropic sources. An outstanding demonstrable track record in excellence in research and research leadership at a national and international level. Sustained and effective mentoring of junior colleagues, demonstrators and tutors, where relevant. Demonstrated capacity to foster a collegiate research environment that promotes successful and on-time completion of HDR students. Demonstrated track record of sustained excellence in leading the development and delivery of curricula and in the development of innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses. Significant demonstrable experience of leading public engagement activities that promote research leadership and/or education outcomes. Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
