Dynamic and strategic role focussed on program management on one of Sustaining Capital's strategically prioritised capital program Permanent employment which includes attractive salary, annual bonuses and a huge range of additional benefits Help demonstrate our values of care, courage and curiosity Tremendous opportunity to join a global organisation at the forefront of mining About the role: We are looking for a Program Lead - Structural Integrity (SI) to strategically lead and manage one of Sustaining Capital's strategically prioritised program across Rio Tinto Iron Ore operations, align with organisational objectives and efficient use of resources and capital. The role is pivotal in driving a multi-year program strategy across our long-term pipeline of projects risk-based delivery and harness key Contractor partnership model. The role provides coordination, guidance and support to ensure alignment between key stakeholders throughout the program and sub-projects lifecycle.The roles will report to the Principal of Fixed Plant Structural in the newly established Studies and Programs team within Sustaining Capital. The program lead will be expected to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders across our business at a divisional level and our engineering partners. They will form relationships with multiple divisions supported by Sustaining Capital and as a by-product this role will attract a broad business exposure, strategic project delivery and focus on capital efficiencies.Key Responsibilities Program Framework: Develop, evolve and manage program framework to structure the overarching program strategy and provide a consistent approach across all applicable RTIO Pilbara operations i.e. Program charter and strategy, sourcing strategy, master schedule, risk register and performance scorecards; Effective risk management: Manage the program master schedule and risk register, providing updates on changes to the pipeline of works and resourcing to adapt across a multi-year hub-based approach; Strategic Sourcing: Engage with the Sustaining Capital Strategic Sourcing team to develop procurement and commercial contracting strategies for the program and regularly review the sourcing strategy for projects in the program; Execution Planning: Support study and delivery leads with forming study and execution plans for order of magnitude (OoM), pre-feasibility studies (PFS), feasibility studies (FS), implementation and commissioning phases; Program Execution: Coordinate and support the roll out of program with a team of study leads and project engineers, delivering projects across RTIO Pilbara operations; Relationship Management: Manage relationships with site leaders, asset owners and contracting partners; Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with Delivery and Construction Superintendents to ensure projects are adequately supported, resourced and executed in a safe manner; Communication: Provide regular communication and reporting on program metrics to key stakeholders across the business; Improvement: Support improvement of the project delivery systems, processes and procedures ensuring that they are standardised and embedded across the team; Lessons Learned: Manage lessons learned across the program, demonstrating effective communication of successes and proposed improvements; Performance Monitoring: Oversee the development and control of program based milestones, budgets and critical activities; and Study Management: Depending on the complexity of the program and available capacity, program lead could also lead strategic study(s). What you'll bring: A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team; Excellent stakeholder engagement and demonstrable strategic thinking at a business level; Demonstrable experience and link back to site delivery / commissioning of Fixed Plant / SMP (Structural, Mechanical, Piping) / SI projects; Strong project management skills to oversee and support execution of study phases (OoM, PFS, and FS) as per the project management framework; Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills; Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and processes; Demonstrate experience in commercial contracts, evaluations and procurement activities; Experience in managing budgets, resources and stakeholder relationships; Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent is required (due to the specialist nature of all projects within this program); and. Key Interfaces Delivery Teams: Coordinate efforts between projects and provide guidance; Sustaining Capital: Engineering, Procurement , Project Services; Senior Leadership: Approval of program charter, strategic vision and funding pathways; Strategic Sourcing team: Develop procurement and contracting strategies; Subject Matter Experts: Alignment of SI scope, standards and prioritisation of works across Sustaining Capital and MP&E (Maintenance planning and Engineering); Vendors/Service Providers: Engineering Partner, Suppliers/manufacturers and Implementation Contractor; and End User: Site Operations including Site Leadership.
