A Day in the Life An internal growth story has created an exciting role for a Program Manager – Healthcare Economics, Policy and Reimbursement Strategy (HEPR) based in Australia. This is an excellent role for an individual with a strategic mindset, strong experience in healthcare technology assessments and projects in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region who enjoys working across a matrixed regional and global organization, navigating change and recommending solutions to our Operating Unit leadership and commercial teams. You will do varied work with high impact which will drive business growth and deliver best possible outcomes for our customers. The Health Economics, Policy, and Reimbursement (HEPR) function works with internal and external stakeholders including governments, payers, providers, and patients as a trusted and critical partner. The HEPR function secures funding & reimbursement, delivers economic value, shapes healthcare policy, all critical to enabling patient access to Medtronic technologies to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. The successful candidate for the Program Manager – Healthcare Economics, Policy and Reimbursement Strategy - will be an individual who is at the forefront of innovation, offering strategic solutions on how to make Medtronic’s innovative products available for our patients in the market. You will have ownership of critical projects and will enjoy a high level of trust and autonomy in delivering outcomes. You will have the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders establishing strong partnerships. Agility, a can-do attitude and high level of collaboration is critical to one’s success in this role. This is an individual contributor role. In this role you will report into the Director – Healthcare Economics, Policy & Reimbursement for ANZ Region. We are flexible for this role to be remote and based anywhere within Australia. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Creates and executes comprehensive market access strategies through the integration of pricing and reimbursement, health technology assessment, evidence-based medicine review, and health economic modelling activities. Designs, develops and implements an integrated approach to all aspects of the payer value proposition from early development through and beyond loss of exclusivity. Communicates the unique attributes of the therapeutic area drugs/medical devices to external multi-stakeholders to ensure the drug's/device's value proposition will be recognized and maximize market uptake. Works collectively with payers, including Healthcare Technology Assessment (HTA), reimbursement influencers and other decision makers to ensure the continuous changing reimbursement systems remain fair to all involved parties. Develops strategic studies with the end-customer in mind to ensure that the results will favorably impact pricing, reimbursement and market access as well as market uptake. Conducts quantitative and qualitative pricing research. Works with Health Economics/Outcomes Research to design pricing strategy. Required Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or a postgraduate qualification with minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in working in health economic program or project management roles within a corporate environment with medical devices or pharmaceuticals industry. Health technology assessment experience in the Australian market is essential.
