Overview: Full-time, Continuing Salary Teaching Level SE2 + Loading: Academic & Leadership Allowance $15,000 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, however, may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University About You As a Program Manager for Community Services, you will play a pivotal role in driving educational and business activities that bring the RMIT Strategic and Business Plans to life within the College. Your leadership will shape the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of innovative teaching materials, products, and services that fulfill the aspirations of enterprises, industry, and students. You will also have the opportunity to guide the recruitment, selection, induction, and work plans of staff in your area, fostering a team committed to excellence. Through effective collaboration with external organizations and fellow RMIT Schools, particularly teaching and administrative staff, you will create a vibrant educational community. Your participation in relevant activities will help maintain vocational competence at the educational level being delivered and assessed, inspiring teaching staff to actively engage in their professional development and ensuring the highest standards are met. If you possess significant community service experience, your ability to engage with the industry will enhance your candidacy. To be successful in this position, you’ll have: Capacity to effectively lead and manage a team of staff in the design, implementation and evaluation of innovative teaching materials, products and services. Develop and strengthen professional relationships with the Community Services, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), and Gender and Sexual Violence sectors. Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed. Effective organisational skills in planning, development, implementation, operation and review of programs to achieve a quality-learning environment for students and staff. Understanding of the vocational education and training sector, and of the training requirements of relevant industries and ability to meet these needs through program design and assessment. Capacity to implement strategies to cater for differing learning styles and approaches to study including gender and cultural influences, and the needs of disadvantaged groups. Highly developed interpersonal communication, leadership, negotiating and educational counselling skills that will enable success with students, industry clients, peers and management. Demonstrate skills in the use of information and communication technologies. An understanding of resource management issues, including finance, facilities, management, OHS, Equal Opportunity and Industrial Relations. Qualifications VE Teachers appointed to a continuing position are required to meet all the following minimum standards: Vocational Competencies: The appointee must be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level of those delivered. Assessment and Delivery Competencies: The appointee must hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from the TAE10 Training and Education Training Package as a minimum qualification. This consists of 10 units (7 core and 3 electives). Teaching Qualification: To appoint a teacher at a classification of Teacher 3.1 or above, the appointee must hold a professional teaching qualification, defined as a qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University. RMIT recognises and supports the TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor.
