Job Description The Project ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney’s third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney. Project scope includes: Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway In line with the above, ACCIONA is now looking for a Project Engineer (Excavation) to join the Western Harbour Tunnel Project. As the Project Engineer , you will be responsible for managing the technical and operational aspects of the Roadheader excavation works. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. Specific Tasks Include Oversee all aspects of the excavation, ensuring alignment with design specifications and project objectives. The ability to manage work and performance of teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes. Lead and motivate the Engineers to meet or exceed all project targets and objectives. Monitor and report on project delivery costs and develop strategies and recommendations for recovery actions in the event of overruns. Ensure that the master project program is maintained up to date on a monthly basis. Ensure Safety, Environmental and Quality (and other) management systems and project plans are adequate, up to date, implemented and adhered to. Prepare, manage, and track budgets and financial reports. Technical Documentation: Create and review project documentation, including Scopes of Work, registers, MDR's, ITP's, ITR, drawings, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Required Skills and Competencies Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Proven track record of successfully delivering Civil packages for large infrastructure projects. Demonstrated expertise in tunnel excavation (roadheader). Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
