Project Engineer - Tunnel & Ferry Safety | NSW State Government $80-$100 per hour + Super | 40 hours per week NSW Government | Hybrid - Windsor + WFH ASAP start | Estimated 5 month assignment, potential to extend About the Company Our client provides services throughout the Sydney metropolitan area. The organisation is focused on providing sustainable, efficient and cost-effective services.About the Role Our client is seeking a professional Project Engineer with Tunnels and Ferries Safety experience to join their team in Windsor with some flexibility to work a few days remotely from home per week. This is an estimated 5 month assignment, with a potential to extend.Reporting to the Project Lead, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of Tunnel and Ferry Projects to ensure road safety, asset management and network efficiency. This role will emphasize the preparation and development of safety-related documentation, business cases and project briefs.Responsibilities: Preparation and development of safety-related documentation including safety manuals, risk assessments, safety protocols and noncompliance reports Ensure all safety documentation aligns with organisational standards and regulations Provide project support to project managers by developing and reviewing safety procedures Assist in conducting risk assessments and identifying potential safety hazards on Tunnel & Ferry projects Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure safety considerations are incorporated into the overall project development and delivery Ensure all maintenance activities are fully documented with respect to safety, performance, and compliance Provide regular reports and updates on safety performance and compliance status Ensure compliance with best practice and legislative requirements About You Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels Solid technical, negotiation, influencing and problem-solving skills High attention to detail Takes initiative with the ability to work autonomously Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines Requirements Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, particularly with road or maritime Proven project or program management experience Demonstrated experience conducting risk assessments and safety focused Willingness to undergo a National Police Check Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment How to Apply Applications will be reviewed within 48 hours of the job posting.
